11th Bombardment Group Heavy (H) "The Grey Geese"

The 51^st consecutive annual reunion of the 11^th Bombardment Group (H) Association was held in Honolulu, Hawaii this year from December 5^th to December 10^th.  We stayed at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.  We attended the 70^th Remembrance Ceremony commemorating the attack on Hickam Field and presented a wreath, visited the Punch Bowl National Cemetery and presented a wreath, visited the USS Arizona memorial, the USS Missouri and had a tour of the Pacific Aviation Museum on Ford Island.  Our banquet was at the Open Lanai at the Hickam Officer’s Club with a very warm welcome from General Gary North, Commander PACAF.  Colonel Ken Rizer, Commander 11^th Wing at Andrews, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), gave a presentation on the mission of the 11^th Wing.  The 11^th Wing at JBA carries on the legacy and traditions of the 11^th Bombardment Group (H).  Our breakfast buffet, after the Remembrance Ceremony, was also at the Open Lanai at the Hickam Officer’s Club and was attended by Gen North, Col. Rizer and a number of personnel from Hickam.
